Dr. Lorraine Sgarlato, Au.D. A.B.A
Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Lorraine Sgarlato is originally from New York City where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brooklyn College and a Masters degree in Audiology from Adelphi University, Garden City, New York.

In her early years as an audiologist she worked in schools, clinics, hospitals and physician practices in New York, and Florida. In later years she moved to beautiful Bucks County Pennsylvania with her family where she continued on her educational journey earning a Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University, Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.

Over the years Dr. Sgarlato's passions drove her closer to uncovering innovative evidenced based therapies to remediate auditory processing and reading disorders. She opened up a private practice 1997 where she was one of the first in the country to implement the brain training exercises "Fast ForWord Language and Reading" and "Interactive Metronome". She has been credited for helping countless children become more efficient readers by strengthening and improving their auditory processing skills.

Dr. Sgarlato has created many long-lasting friendships over the years with colleagues, but she values most the relationships she has made with many of her patients.
Dr. Sgarlato takes a strong stance on a child's right for a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment. She has helped parents as an expert witness during Due Process Hearings.
Today, Dr. Sgarlato holds licenses to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
She recently reopened her private practice located in Bucks County Pennsylvania. Although her areas of expertise run wide, her current practice focuses primarily on the treatment of C.A.P.D. (central auditory processing disorders), Tinnitus Therapy, Brain Training for all ages.
Dr. Lorraine Sgarlato is on the clinical advisory board of Interactive Metronome and is a sought-after community lecturer and public speaker on a wide variety of topics including, Rewiring Your Brain, Auditory Processing Disorders, Tinnitus Retraining Therapy and How to Keep Your Brain Young As We Age.

Dr. Lorraine Sgarlato, Au.D. has been a practicing audiologist for over 40 years. She has specialized in hearing loss, tinnitus, misophonia, hyperacusis and diagnosing and the treatment of auditory processing disorders.
In opening the Ear Brain Connection,LLC Dr. Sgarlato wanted to help people understand the power of neuroplasticity and brain exercise. Ear Brain Connection,LLC was developed to help children and adults with auditory processing disorder and the average person with normal aging stay sharp! Ear Brain Connection LLC helps each person find the most effective treatment to improving important brain skills like memory and comprehension. Ear Brain Connection,LLC will help you understand the power of your own brain's neuroplasticity and show you have easy it is to retrain your brain using evidence brain programs. These programs are a drug-free, non-invasive approach, improving lives using simple but effective methods.

Dr. Sgarlato's mentors are many but the most influential on her life have been award winning neuroscientists in the field of brain plasticity; Dr. Michael Merzenick, Dr. Paula Tallal, Dr. Álvaro Fernández Ibáñez, Dr. Nina Kraus and Neurotechnology innovator Alex Doman.

The Ear Brain Connection,LLC allows individuals to find a one-stop-shopping experience where consultations are performed virtually and all treatment programs are performed at home under the supervision of Dr. Sgarlato. All treatment programs utilize the principle of brain plasticity and thereby with attention, focus and consistency, brains' change!
Ear Brain Connection,LLC also specializes in the treatment of Tinnitus, Hyperacusis and Misophonia. The key to alleviating symptoms is to apply stress reduction exercises, counseling tools and sound therapies. Using the latest in neuroscience and evidence-based methodologies Dr. Sgarlato has been successful in helping patients regain control of their lives again!

Dr. Sgarlato earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Brooklyn College, a Master's degree in Speech and Audiology from Adelphi University and a Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University.
